Recession

A recession is a significant and prolonged decline in economic activity. It is usually measured by two consecutive quarters of decline in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of a nation's economy.

During a recession, the economy struggles, people lose their jobs (rising unemployment), companies make fewer sales, wages stagnate, and the economic output of the entire country suffers.
